Poker is a very popular game and one of its popular versions is idn poker, which is mainly played in Indonesia. Most of the poker games especially Hold’em and Omaha start with big blind and small blind which are considered as a forced bet. These blinds are the starting of the pot and the rest of the game is based on betting and raising the pot.

Dealing cards and betting rounds

There is a dealer who deals with the card among the players. The dealing starts from the player sitting to the left of the dealer and ends on the dealer. After dealing with the cards betting rounds starts. First, hole cards are dealt and after that comes the turn of community cards. First, three community cards are dealt and after the completion of betting round, fourth and fifth community cards are dealt. Each dealing is followed by betting rounds.

The action was taken in each betting round

Here are the actions, which a player can take in each betting round.

Check

This is an action in which a player declines the opportunity of making a bet. This action can only be taken if none of the players has made a bet. After a player has checked, the turn goes to the next player sitting to his left. If all the players make a check, the round is considered as complete and next dealing starts along with the next betting round.

Bet

This is an action, which a player can take if no other player has made a bet. After a player makes a bet, no other player can bet but they can call or raise the bet. Calling and raising must be done to remain in the game.

Fold

A player who folds the bet has to discard his cards and he cannot bet, call or raise the bet in the current game. If he wants to play again, he will have to wait for the new game to start.

Call

If a player has made a bet in the current round, other players have to call the bet. The calling has to be equal to the highest bet made by any player.

Raise

If a player has made the bet, other players can raise the pot during the current round. To raise the pot, a player has to call the bet, which is equal to the highest bet made. After this, he can raise the bet. All other subsequent players get a chance to call or raise the bet again.

Betting Rounds

There are many poker games and each of them has different betting rounds. Texas Hold’em and Omaha have identical rounds, which are as follows.

Pre-Flop

This betting round starts when two hole cards are dealt with among the players.

Flop

After the completion of the first round of betting, three community cards are dealt which are called the flop. The second betting round starts after this dealing.

Turn

After the completion of the second betting round, the fourth community card is dealt and the third round of betting starts The fourth community card is called the turn.

River

The fifth community card is called the river and after its dealing, the final round of betting starts. After its completion, players have to showdown their cards. The player with the highest hand wins the pot.
